Pimp My Honda...minor updates

My cousin and my I just finished spraying the engine chain cover and the forks. Used silver paint as the undercoat, sparkling grey as the main colour and finished it off using clear coat. Just a few parts left to be sprayed and we're all set to reassembled the bodyparts and the engine. Can't wait!

I can see my finger's reflections on it even without the clear coatings.

The fork.

Kota Kinabalu's 'Freedom of entry to the city' parade!

Continuation from the previous post on the 'Freedom of entry to the city' event. The parade was great, which various navy units from Malaysia, United States, India and Brunei all came equipped with their uniforms. There were some marching bands from KK too. The main attraction however was the navy band from Indonesia, which showed their cool and entertaining skills on their instruments and some wacky costumes. Check out the shark and the seal!

Are those real?

Tawau unit.

The vibrant Indonesian navy band! Even when off duty and playing their instruments, their faces showed how their serious about what they do.

Kota Kinabalu's 'Freedom of entry to the city' maritime show

Last Saturday morning I was thinking of going out to shoot some things but did not have the idea to where I should go. Luckily I bought one local daily news and found out that an event will be held that morning at Segama waterfront. Some 1,100 navy and army personnel from United States of America, India, Indonesia and Brunei took part in the "Freedom of Entry to the City" programme at Segama Waterfront in conjunction with the Malaysian Royal Navy 75th Anniversary. There were a lot of activities being done there, a lot of photos but I'll post up the activities one by one starting by the Malaysian Navy maritime show.

I enjoyed the demonstration very much, which showcased the capabilities and speed of the boats. Shots taken with 75-300 kitlens.

They even applied the brakes! Awesome!

I will post up the the interesting parade, my visit to some of the Malaysian Navy warships and my trip on the navy boat later.

Too old to read? Wrong! Mags for the 60 years old and above in Japan.

Before you proceed, I must advise those in their 40's and below. If you find wrinkles in lingerie and sagginess will cause uncomfortable and discomfort to you and your tummy, please do not browse further. If you do, you might need to prepare some tissues or air sickness bag. I won't be held responsible if your laptop and monitor broke down, or the hours spent cleaning your room because of your sudden 'outburst'.

Advise number two. If you're eating now, please stop before browsing further. If your menu is somewhat so delicious, finish it first. Don't browse this post while drinking. You would not want those tasty coke or coffee coming out right through your nose. But it would make a nice nasal cavity cleaner though. Hehe. If you're the type of person that perceive magazine covers are only with nice curves, clean, fair and beautiful faces together with slim bodies, then this post might not be suitable for you.

Alright. Back to the topic. The Japanese have been known of their rich culture, their ninjas, nice cars and their modern technology that we all fond of and envy sometimes because some if it are 'Japanese exclusive only' things. They are also known to take good care of their older citizens, staying in modern homes with trained workers to take care of their needs.

Some says that you're never too old to learn. I guess that's true as the Japs published magazines for their elder counterparts as well. I don't know if these mags can sell, but I think it's a nice idea to cater their reader's need as well. It comes with front page covers that might pop their eyes out and jaws dropping.

Is the tissue in your hands now?

What is she doing?

The cover models still can strut their stuffs just like this one...

My grandparents

I was browsing my old photo collections when I came across these photos of my dad's father and mum. I almost forgot about these which I took last December before Christmas using the 50mm lens. I was astonished on how the light falls on their faces, revealing their wrinkles and features. It showed what kind of living they had back then. In an instant I remembered what my dad often tells me, my two brothers and my sis.

He kept telling us about how they lived their life in hardship. Just how he woke up very early in the morning to fetch firewood to cook before walking some few kilometers to school. He often reminded us about trying our best to in our studies, get a good job and lead a good life, unlike what he endured when he was young.

His stories of his childhood upbringings, even though we will never experience it, taught us siblings to be what we are now. And one day, I will try to teach my children just what my grandparents and parents have done for us.

Susan Boyle...the unexpected suprise and star!

This is one remarkable story that deserved to be told to others. From a nobody to somebody in the entertainment world that if full of wannabees and mimicking others. I think she's the only contestant not only for Britain's Got Talent, but also American Idol that moved Simon Cowell from his seat, with an expression of full adoration and awe.

I have full respect for the 47 year old Scot too after seeing the first round of BGT. It's the perfect example of the saying 'Don't judge the book by its cover'. Not intimidated by the crowds laughter of her gimmicks, personality and appearances, she just shut them all once she opened up her voice. Just can't wait to see what she will deliver as the show progresses.

Pimp My Honda...updates

Remember this?

After weeks of rust brushing, sand papering, washing, drying and spraying, the main frame has become this...

The fuel tank.

My cousin have been helping me a lot to finish my bike. Now I really can't wait to get it done.
