Miri Marriott Resort and Spa - 1st part

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011!!!!!!!! I had a slow new year, just browsing the net last night as I don't feel like going out. Besides, it's raining and I'm still tired after driving back to KK from Kch.

When I went back to my hometown in the middle of December, I have been busy preparing for my wedding party on the 27th. I did the wedding reception at my wife's hometown at the end of last year, and it's due time to do another one for my folks in Bau. It was fun, a closed functions between family members.

Christmas was nice too. We had more guests this year and it's a good thing cos we won't be having much food leftovers at the end of the day.

Anyway, I would like to share my experiences spending two nights in a 5-star resort, all thanks to my friend Joshua. Miri Marriott Resort and Spa is situated about 2 kilometres from Miri town. The resort is located facing the South China Sea and at night, you can feel the cold sea breeze and listen to the waves. For me, those are nice additions to a good night's sleep.

Hello Marriott!

My friend gave me room 1620. It's a Deluxe Garden Room. It's at the corner, facing the garden and the sea. Let's see what's inside!

Aaaahhhh!

I entered the bathroom...

I'm amazed with the cleanliness. Even the tiles are not spared.

Mint-inspired toiletries.

Snack and coffee/tea bar.

The things below are free, on the top... :)

The hotel management provides more than just regular tea. Green Tea with Jasmine is my favourite.

The most important thing in the room. As stated in their website 'Luxury bedding featuring fluffier pillows, cotton-rich sheets and soft comforters'. How comfortable is it? Just say that I woke up much, much later than I should have.

39" yo! A lot better than some big hotels that I've stayed but still clinging on with CRT TV's. Bring along your gaming system or DVD player.

Study/work table.

Two swans sculptured from towels.

Another view.

This is what you get next to the bed. The Sony alarm clock is a nice addition IMHO. I do think there should be a user manual provided as I took more than 15 minutes to figure out how to set the clock and alarm.

Wired internet connection is provided, with a fee by the way. It's not that cheap, but, according to my friend, DOCOMO supplied the service and it's way better than our own.

Breakfast menu list.

The softness of the pillows and the comfort of the bed still lingers in my mind...Wish I have those at home.
