Few days ago I saw one of my school staffs sat outside with a box in front of him and a scissor in his hands. Out of curiosity, I asked what going on. Basically his room in the office had been infested with rats, and some of the electrical equipments got damaged.
He followed an advice from the old folks that by using pandan leaves(screwpine leaves), it can chase away the rats. I'm not very sure if it would works, but there's no harm trying because it's simpler to do than using poison, trap or the rat glue. By using rat poison, we wouldn't know where the rats would end up and after it died, it will emit a very terrible smell. Rat poison on the other hand, is messy.
How about you try the method and see if it works. I(or rather my housemates and I) have been chasing away rats from our rented house using various methods other than the pandan leaves. It was only recently that we managed to eliminate all of it.
