X'mas 2009

This year's Christmas was a nice one, mainly due to the fact that we didn't do much preparations like what we did years before. Mum decided to cater some of the foods, and helped a lot. Gone were the Christmas Eve's nights where mum and sometimes us would slept late at night just to prepare for the foods. And we had more guests visiting this year to finish our foods and drinks.

I had just a few Christmas day photos to share with you guys. This is how the Riseng's family celebrated it. Cheers!

Just a few more days...

In two days time, I'll be driving back to Lawas and then KK. In a few days time it will be the coming of the New Year and the start of 2010 school session. But before that, I need to cover my cousin John's wedding reception tomorrow at Kuching. I covered their wedding ceremony at St. Joseph's churchon the 15th, and we did a simple, short wedding photoshoot after that. All the photos here were taken using the 16-105mm. A nice range for wedding IMO, but lacks the bokeh that is equally important for these kind of shots.

Shot taken with F58 on body with Omnibounce for fill light. Photos taken at Reservoir Park and Friendship Garden. I'm still not satisfied with my shots however. Still need to learn a lot on the editing part and the poses.

By the way, here's an interesting article for general reading.

Cyntia at an unfinished park

First of all, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Had a busy day today as all of our regular guests came over. This year mum opt to cater for the foods, and it was tasty and cheap as well. She only cooked three dishes; our favourite rendang, chicken curry and mix vegetable. Didn't go visiting much this first day of Christmas though.

Anyway, few day before X'mas we had a small photoshoot at a park situated in Krokong, Bau. It was reported by a friend that the park could not be completed due to some personal issues. It had a man-made waterfall, stone stairs, wooden pathway in situated in a vast area filled with lush green trees and flowers.

Had to walk about 10 min to get to this place.

Backache ah Wez?

Our model this time is Paulyna Cyntia. She's a friend to our friend. This time we brought along a reflective polisterine as a reflector and as usual, our flashes for some wireless strobing. I used my ever trusty Tammy 70-200 for that bokeh shots.

'Behind the scenes' shot.

This was taken from the stone stairs, 200mm.

One thing to another

Fever had passed, but now I'm having another sickness. Out of sudden my body is full of rashes. It all started after I consumed the medicines that the doctor gave me. I was given three types of painkillers! I suspected that those painkillers were the culprit so I stopped consuming it. But the rashes still there up till now making me feeling very uneasy.

So just now I came back to the doctor. He quickly did some testing whether I'm having dengue symptoms and luckily I didn't. I was given another medicine and I really hope that I'll be fine by Christmas day.

By the way, here comes some long overdue post. Here are some pics taken from the 1 Malaysia Tuaran festival. I armed myself with the 70-200mm Tammy and see what I can do with such long and tight range.

First use binoculars, next time telescope.

Rowing competition.

What are you thinking of?

At Tuaran town, karaoke competition was held.

Dusun Lotud tribe.

A very passionate goat.

The day before, I joined some of my friends to Dalit beach at Tuaran for some sunset shooting. It's a nice beach for an outing but just be careful as some people have drowned while bathing there.

A little pose before the sun really sets.

Shukri and Ahmad.

Shukri told me the best time to take photos was after the sun sets. That's where the all the colours comes out.

Wuhu!
